How Long to Run questions

Most beginners take 30–40 minutes; regular recreational runners finish in about 24–32 minutes; competitive club runners often run under 20 minutes. At a 6:00 per km pace a 5K takes 30:00.

About 8–12 minutes for most recreational runners. At 10 km/h (6:00/km) a mile takes 9:39.

Typical finishing times are about 1:50–2:30. At 6:00 per km a half marathon takes 2:06:35.

Most marathoners finish in about 3:30–5:00. At 6:00 per km the marathon takes 4:13:10.
